i wouldn’t go with the iPhone if it was the last phone on earth. I just think it is overrated and not worth it. Android is one of the best! I have the HTC G1 phone which is an Android phone. My camera is very good.Plus there are other apps you can download that are camera if you don’t like the one that is built into the phone.

That depends, if you not a techie or someone who knows there way around a computer you really won’t like it. Its a bit advanced for the average user because it takes a little bit of insight to really get it work and customize it to what you want, but once you got it there it is the most amazing gadget you will ever have. Android is the best thing out there for those who like to get their fingers dirty and make their software work for them. or if you don’t feel like learning somethings or have pride in your device you could always go for the stereotypical ipod touch (which i must add will be outdated in a year, while the Archos will have a good fan base that doesn’t just buy the new one, and work with what they have)
Also the reason theres such a big gap with reviews is that Achos original firmware for it was very faulty but now they have updated it and it works amazing from what i hear.

My guess would be no – any of these phones that are “all screen” on the front are very fragile. A friend of mine dropped his iPhone and it got a spiderweb crack all over the front. I wouldn’t imagine that the Droid would be any different. It’s always best to buy a case for any phone you use.

I got the Droid when it came out and I love it. My only complaint is that they didn’t make it very ‘pretty’ but that’s hardly anything to rule out getting the phone. If you aren’t very good with cell phones and drop them a lot, or can’t baby it in general then I probably wouldn’t recommend it. I haven’t dropped mine but I could imagine that it would instantly break if it was dropped. I love that I can be on a phone call, use the internet, switch to my texts, open up an app.. almost do anything while still being on the call. Also google maps makes the phone worth it in my opinion, it has already came in really handy. Oh and if you buy the phone at a Best Buy Mobile I think you can get the rebate instantly and won’t have to deal with their stupid rebate credit cards.

From what I see, definitely. It runs ANDROID, an open source(free-to-hack)OS, it has a full qwerty keyboard, a touchscreen, and 3G and WiFi. It’s probably the first real iphone competitor besides the Palm Pre. I’d definitly get it.

The biggest difference is the provider, Verizon is much better than AT&T. I’d make my decision based on the provider, then select a phone. That being said…here’s some articles that might help you:
