I want to know if you can get the new droid phone from Verizon without signing up for the email plan because I am looking into getting it. Thanks for any answers.

   YES you can, sort of..
   you can get either basic or select plans with your choice of minutes. then you must chose either unlimited data or e-mail and mobile web in features. at an extra cost of $44.99 for the unlimited data and $29.99 for the e-mail and mobile web. so actually it only comes out to around $10 more a month if you just get the e-mail smartphone plan over the select plan where you have to add the e-mail or data anyway.

   This phone requires a data plan because of all of is capabilities, it will not work otherwise. It’s a smartphone.
